VisualWget 2.3

Download manager based on Wget

  • Clear and easy presentation of downloads
  • Detects downloads automatically

  • Doesn't seed downloads from alternate locations for faster downloads
  • Doesn't feature sounds to indicate when finished

VisualWget is a download manager based on the Wget core retriever. It differs from it in that it provides an interface to manage files easily but at the same time it's similar to it in the ability to stop a download, and resume at any time.

Each download can be configured independently to assign their priority, and can also be downloaded by the percentage, size, transfer speeds, etc. VisualWget detects any download active on your PC and adds it to its interface, working seamlessly with any browser.

The most outstanding feature is the recursive downloads which basically means that you don't need to worry about dropped connections. However many times a connection fails, VisualWget keeps on doing file petitions indefinitely. It does not matter whether the cuts are your own internet connection or from the server delivering the file - in the end you will end up downloading the whole file.

VisualWget is an excellent download manager that shows clearly absolutely everything that's being downloaded onto your hard drive.

VisualWget is a download manager that use Wget as a core retriever to retrieve files from the web. You can think of VisualWget as a GUI front-end for Wget that give you all of Wget functionalities plus little management features such as download queue.

When retrieving a file, VisualWget gather some necessary information by communicating with Wget, then compute and display a progress bar, speed and ETA within a jobs list that you can easily see and estimate an overall progress by yourself.
